Costa Calma — South Fuerteventura
The northern end of the Sotavento zone, covering two sandy pictures: Matas Bay on the isthmus (a few minutes away) is a huge cross-offshore, glassy butter-flat 'mega flat-water' spot rated among Europe's best blast/speed venues and not tide-dependent; the Costa Calma beach in front of the resort hotels is sand, variable, flat-ish to chop. Beginner-friendly in the light morning wind, intermediate/advanced speed and freestyle in the stronger afternoon.
Wind: 15–30 kn · N, NE — Sports: windsurf, kite, wing, freestyle — Level: all levels — On site: school, rental, food
Rules: Kiting is NOT allowed in the Costa Calma bay (windsurf only there); kite at the flat-water spots such as Matas Bay. Windsurf and kite are kept separate.
Caution: Cross-offshore means offshore drift, so securing yourself matters, especially for kite and wing. Winter SW/SE swell brings a trickier onshore shorebreak; otherwise it is sandy and forgiving.
