Le Saline / Ezzi Mannu — North Sardinia
Huge flat beaches south of La Pelosa. Top Stintino windsurf hotspot.
Wind: 12–35 kn · SW, W — Sports: windsurf, kite, wing, SUP — Level: all levels — On site: school, rental, food, WC
Water: Flat, very clear water at both Le Saline and Pazzona — good for speed and jibe practice; hard to point upwind if the wind direction shifts mid-session. Between the two spots sits a small lagoon/pond that keeps the airflow clean, letting riders sail within a metre of shore when there are no bathers. Long reaches possible: 8km between the tuna towers (north) and the Fiumesanto power plant (south).
Launch: Le Saline: take the well-signed exit at the roundabout between Pozzo San Nicola and Stintino town; free parking, fills fast on summer weekends. Rig either just past the barrier blocking motor vehicles from the dunes, or down on the beach — the ~100m walkway from car park to beach creates a venturi effect that can power up a kite dangerously early. Pazzona, ~2km south, has easier parking directly by the beach and is preferred specifically in full Libeccio.
Rules: Huge flat beaches (Le Saline/Ezzi Mannu) south of La Pelosa; the dedicated Kitezone Le Saline sits between the old tuna tower and the former salt-pan wetlands. Optimal onshore wind favours windsurf, kite and sailing.
Caution: Generally calm, shallow and crystal-clear — family-friendly; currents can form with strong NE wind, so take care on those days.
