Water: Flat, mirror-like water in the lee (east/Porto Pollo) bay; chop and wind-swell up to ~1m at the sandspit in the west (Porto Liscia) bay during strong (25-30kn) W/NW.
Launch: A sandy spit (tombolo) to Isola dei Gabbiani divides two bays. East bay (Porto Pollo) = windsurf/sail zone, with Sporting Club Sardinia and the MB Pro Center (Michiel Bouwmeester) at the SE end near the main car park. West bay (Porto Liscia/Barrabisa) = official kite zone; only FH Academy is authorised to teach kite beyond 200m from the Porto Pollo shore, via a cone-shaped dedicated launch/landing corridor. Camper parking behind Sporting Club is tolerated off-season.
Rules: Separate kite (west) and windsurf (east) zones; marked swimming areas are off-limits; school zone vs free zone. Follow signage and lifeguards in season.
Caution: Very crowded in peak season — keep strictly to the zones. Current in the channel between the bays; shallow sandbanks.
