Buggerru / San Nicolò — South Sardinia

Wave spot, popular surf break. Wavesail in moderate wind.

Wind: 12–30 kn · W, NW — Sports: surf, windsurf — Level: advanced — On site: school, food, WC

Launch: Park along the road that runs the full length of the beach, parallel to the sand — pick your entry point based on wind direction. The stretch beside Buggerru's harbor pier ('molo di Buggerru'), at the southern end, is explicitly recommended by the Comune-run tourist portal for medium-to-advanced surfers, since waves and wind are both bigger/steadier there than at the sheltered, gusty northern end near Portixeddu. Reached via the SP83 road.

Rules: Popular wave/surf break on the wild west coast, best October–March; the Maestrale (NW) builds the swell. Wavesail in moderate wind. Dozens of surfers gather when it pumps.

Caution: Powerful waves; cold, deep water and white rocks at the south end. Crowded on good swells.
