Water: Powerful, clean right-hand point-break waves bending around the cape into the bay, reported up to mast-high/4-6m in strong Maestrale. The left is shorter/more technical. Adjacent Putzu Idu beach is a flat, sheltered beginner bay. Mostly flat at the Point in summer.
Launch: Point break: narrow, tricky rocky path down from the clifftop SE of the cape — no surf center or safety infrastructure directly at the point. Beginner/flat area: rig directly on the Putzu Idu beach promenade where rental/school infrastructure and (increasingly paid) parking exist. Mini Capo reached via Mandriola beach entry.
Rules: Capo Mannu point is an expert wave spot — localism, make friends onshore first. Beginners use the flat Putzu Idu beach (first kite/windsurf contact).
Caution: Sharp pumice-rock & reef shoreline (booties advised), sea urchins, powerful waves, leashes snag on the reef. Ponente blows onshore — risky in the bays.
