La Caletta (Siniscola) — East Sardinia

Long sandy beach, wave + bumps. Windsurf-friendly.

Wind: 12–30 kn · NE, E, SE — Sports: windsurf, kite, wing, SUP, surf — Level: all levels — On site: school, rental, food, WC, camping

Water: Generally shallow and sandy-bottomed keeping waves small and friendly; genuine shorebreak and wave-riding form in S/SE and, less often, N (Tramontana); Maestrale flattens it for freeride.

Launch: During the summer bathing season, water access is restricted to marked launch corridors: one at Santa Lucia beach (Sa Petra Ruia), a second dedicated kite corridor slightly north on the same beach, and a third (kite-only) at Su Tiriarzu in the Posada comune. Parking is typically far from these corridors and paid even inside the pine forest — a cart/trolley for gear is recommended. Outside the bathing season (May-Sept), direct launch from La Caletta beach itself is possible with a short walk from parking to water, and from Orvile (small point where the rocky coast begins heading north), which has shaded pine-forest parking very close to the water and is rated a good slalom launch, especially in Maestrale or off-season conditions.

Rules: Long sandy beach: the VDWS windsurf school sits mid-beach (with lifeguard) and two kite schools share the wide open space toward the caletta. Best in S/SE Scirocco; Maestrale brings lively freeride conditions.

Caution: Sandy shallow bottom keeps waves small and bumps friendly; wind gets gusty in straight southerly (S) flow off the hills near Santa Lucia.
